Free public transport to Swiss parks

Travelling to Swiss parks by train or bus is easy, convenient and environmentally friendly.

Following the success of the past two summers, the "Free travel to and from Swiss parks" offer is entering its third round. Eleven parks and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona are taking part. With this leisure offer, the Swiss parks and their partners are emphasising their commitment to encouraging people to travel in an environmentally friendly way.

Since 2016, the Swiss Parks Network has been working with the participating organisations in the "Fahrtziel Natur" (Destination Nature) cooperation to develop attractive leisure offers using public transport. Thanks to this long-standing collaboration with various partners, the public transport offer "Free travel to and from Swiss parks" will be available for the third time in summer 2024. Guests who book three or more nights at one of the 90 participating accommodation providers will receive a free return ticket for 2nd class public transport from their place of residence in Switzerland. This year, the Thal Nature Park and the Parc Jura vaudois are new additions to the programme. The offer is aimed at new customers and is intended to motivate them to use public transport on their first trip to a park. According to evaluations after the first two runs, this is also successful.

The offer is valid for travel from 1 August to 31 October, or while stocks last. The overnight stays can be booked directly with the approximately 90 participating accommodation providers between 17 June and 27 October 2024. With the reservation confirmation, the public transport ticket can be requested online up to four working days before departure. The public transport ticket will be sent to guests by email as a PDF or mobile ticket before they leave.

The offer is made possible by the cooperation of Fahrtziel Natur, Alliance SwissPass, the Swiss parks, the participating accommodation providers, Agrotourismus Schweiz and the Amt für Energie und Verkehr Graubünden.
